Michele Boardman Grimes, Equire

Michele B. Grimes is a Board Certified Real Estate Lawyer and shareholder with the law firm of Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen. The emphasis of Ms. Grimes' legal practice is in the area of real estate transactions. Her clients include institutional lenders, businesses, and individuals. Ms. Grimes is also a member of the Firm's International Client Services Group. She specializes in representing foreign individuals and off-shore corporations in connection with their U.S. real estate holdings.

Ms. Grimes graduated cum laude from Lafayette College in 1974, and obtained her law degree with honors from the University of Florida in 1978. She has served as General Legal Counsel and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. She is a Past President of the Sarasota County Bar Association. Ms. Grimes is a frequent lecturer on the subjects of Florida taxation of real estate and lending transactions, and foreign investment in U.S. real estate. Her article entitled "Understanding the Issues Facing Foreign Investors in U.S. Real Property" was published by the Bert Rodgers School of Real Estate, which is the foremost continuing education company for Florida real estate professionals. In 2007, Ms. Grimes was named to the Florida Super Lawyers list. Published by Key Professional Media, Inc., Super Lawyers is a list identifying the top 5 percent of attorneys in each state, as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics. Ms. Grimes was listed in Florida Trend's Legal Elite 2008.
