Banyan Theater Company

The Banyan Theater Company mounted its first productions in the summer of 2002 – Harold Pinter’s “Betrayal” followed by George Bernard Shaw’s “Don Juan in Hell.” The company made a strong first impression with audiences and critics alike, and was hailed as “the hottest item on the Sarasota menu.”

We have stayed true to our mission of producing intelligent, significant plays in the summer, showcasing the works of both classic and contemporary playwrights. The shows we’ve produced include “The Price” by Arthur Miller, “Uncle Vanya” by Anton Chekhov, “The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, “Life X 3 by Yasmina Reza, “Faith Healer” by Brian Friel, “True West by Sam Shepard, “Old Wicked Songs” by Jon Marans, “The Drawer Boy by Michael Healey, and “Animals Out of Paper” by Rajiv Joseph.
